Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Groundview handles personal information that we collect through our mobile application, web dashboard, website, social media pages, online communications, and any other sites or services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”). Groundview is a business-to-business platform that helps political campaigns, advocacy organizations, and other institutions manage field organizing and on-the-ground outreach.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the personal information that our organizational customers collect, use, or process through their use of our platform. Our processing of such information is governed solely by our agreements with those customers. In turn, each customer's processing of your personal information is governed by their own privacy policies, not by this Privacy Policy.
Personal Information We Collect
Here's how we collect personal information in providing our Services.
Information You Provide to Us
Contact Details. Your first and last name and email address.
Account Information. Your password (stored encrypted) and organization affiliation.
Employment Information. Your role and your organization's name.
User Content. Content you may create or share with us during our relationship, including posts on our social media pages and comment sections.

Marketing Data. Choices regarding our newsletters, surveys, and other marketing displayed or provided to you, and your preferred methods of receiving promotional communications.

Information Collected Through the Mobile App
Location Data. Our mobile app collects precise location data during canvassing sessions, including latitude and longitude coordinates, location accuracy measurements, altitude, heading (direction of travel), speed, and timestamps. When you start a canvassing session, we track your location in the background even when the app is not actively in use, in order to map your canvassing route, associate field artifacts with specific locations, analyze coverage patterns, and detect dwelling time at locations. Location tracking only occurs during active canvassing sessions and can be stopped at any time by ending your session.
Photos and Media. Photos taken through the app, voice recordings and transcriptions, and associated metadata such as timestamps and location.
Voter and Contact Information. As part of field organizing activities, you may collect voter registration data, contact information, support levels and political preferences, conversation notes, and event attendance records through the platform.
Information Collected Automatically
Online Activity Data. Pages or screens you viewed, how long you spent on a page or screen, navigation paths between pages or screens, information about your activity on a page or screen, access times, duration of access, and whether you have opened our marketing emails or clicked links within them.
Device Information. Your device's operating system type and version, manufacturer and model, screen resolution, RAM and disk size, CPU usage, device type (e.g., phone, tablet), IP address, language settings, mobile device carrier, radio/network information (e.g., WiFi, LTE, 3G), and general location information.
Error and Diagnostic Data. Crash reports, error messages and stack traces, device state at time of error, and user actions leading to errors, collected to monitor app stability.
Automatic Data Collection Tools

We and our service providers may use this information for security purposes, to facilitate navigation, display information more effectively, conduct analytics, and personalize your experience. We do not currently respond to browser do-not-track signals. You can read more information about cookies at http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/index.html.

PostHog. We use PostHog for in-app analytics and product insights, including app usage patterns, feature interactions, screen views, and session duration. You may opt out of PostHog analytics tracking by contacting us at privacy@groundview.app.
Sentry. We use Sentry for error monitoring and crash reporting to maintain app stability and diagnose technical issues.
